India and China

India

India in the ancient times was like Mesopotamia filled with city-states. India was also located near a river like the Egyptians. Unlike  Mesopotamia or Egypt, the Indians all stayed as independent states. They used the rivers in the Indus valley to trade through the Arabian sea.

The fall of the Indian states is unknown to us, but the most popular theory is that they were conquered by an unknown empire. All we know is that the Indus valley once had these Indian states.

China

Past the Indus valley, over the Himalayas, was the Yellow river
valley where the Chinese people lived.  In the Yellow river valley, the Chinese people lived in villages where they farmed. The villages were united by Huang Di, The first Chinese Emperor.

During the reign of Huang Di the Chinese people discovered medicine and silk. Silk is a thread made by Silkworms that is used to make clothing. They also made Pictograms that are symbols for different words.
